i3 Group, the pioneer of using existing sewer ducts to build low cost fibre optic infrastructures that deliver super fact connectivity to homes and businesses, is expanding into Australasia.

H2O Australia, based in Brisbane, will use i3 Group’s innovative solution, its patented FS System to deploy high speed fibre optic cable using the sewer system.

It will offer i3 Group’s bespoke business networks, Fibrezones which feature a dark fibre optic cable ring to which businesses and public sector organisations can connect and Fibrecities, which provide connectivity to every home and business in a town or city.

Elfed Thomas, CEO, i3 Group said: “The region faces a similar challenge to the UK – it lacks last mile fibre and that’s a key issue that could prevent Australian homes and businesses from benefiting from next generation services, including broadband of up to 100Mbps.

H2O Australia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of i3 Group. Earlier this year, the Group established its first overseas operations with joint ventures H2O Ireland and H2O South Africa.
