An Olympic themed reception held in Beijing co-hosted by Gleeds, the International Management and Construction Consultancy and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave attracted over 100 elite members of the business and construction community from around the world. The event held on the impressive roof top terrace of the Marco Polo Hotel just minutes away from the main ‘Birds Nest’ Olympic Stadium also attracted key industry figures associated with London 2012 including BBC presenter Jonathan Edwards, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG).
Commenting on the event, Richard Steer, Senior Partner of Gleeds, said, “We are delighted to have hosted such a successful event to celebrate the Beijing Olympic Games. We have had a presence in China for over 15 years and it was great to recognise the Games in such a spectacular way.”
The venue was decorated with Chinese lanterns and the guests were entertained with a live band, a highly energetic acrobat performance and the evening finished with an impressive ‘lion dance’. A question and answer session held with Sir Steve and BBC sports presenter Andrew Cotter during the evening was captured by Gleeds TV and broadcast to all the Gleeds offices worldwide.
Joined by a variety of clients and local staff the reception highlights Gleeds’ worldwide presence with offices in China and Hong Kong offering a range of services within the commercial, transport, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
