Polypipe Terrain has received BBA Certification for its UK-manufactured Terrain HDPE high density polyethylene pipes. Although the company already held BBA Certification for this product when manufactured at other locations across Europe, this latest development reflects the success of a £1 million investment programme that the company has recently completed in the UK and underlines the benefits that this is now bringing to customers.

“While our HDPE products manufactured abroad had previously carried BBA approval, this development proves that the investment we have made at our Aylesford facility is already paying dividends,” comments Polypipe Terrain’s Operations Director, Van Williams.

“As part of the programme to expand our manufacturing capacity at Aylesford we installed a new HDPE extrusion line and this has played its part in helping us secure this latest BBA accreditation. The ability to manufacture our Terrain HDPE pipes here in the UK will help us provide better supply and delivery service to our customers, and the BBA Certification means that they can rely on an independent assessment of the system with regard to such issues as performance, lifespan and compliance with building regulations.”

The Terrain HDPE drainage system is ideal for both above and below ground non-pressure drainage applications where traditional materials such as cast iron have previously been used. It offers numerous benefits including light weight, easy handling characteristics and maintenance- free performance. The system is also ideal for prefabrication work which can be carried out at Polypipe Terrain’s dedicated facility.
